Obituary: Anna Marie Luise (née Scacca), 97, of Watertown

WATERTOWN- Anna Marie Luise (née Scacca), age 97, of Watertown, CT, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024.

Born on October 21, 1926 in Winsted, CT to the late Angelo and Josephine (DiMartino) Scacca. Anna lived most of her life in Torrington, CT, where she dedicated many years to the State of Connecticut's Labor Department before retiring.

Anna lived in Watertown, CT, for the last three years, where she resided with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Rick Collier. Anna was a loving and devoted mother to Donna Luise of Port St. Lucie, FL; James Luisi of Westford, VT; Janice Luise-Lutkus (David Lutkus) of Goshen, CT; and Linda Collier (Richard Collier) of Watertown, CT.

Besides her children, Anna is survived by her seven grandchildren: Eric Upton, Kurt Upton, Kim Luisi (Dan Reuel Young), Michael Luisi, Matthew Duffy, Jillian Judd (Andrew Judd), and Marren Collier (fiancé, Sean Stranick). She is also remembered fondly by her six great-grandchildren: Ashley Upton, Stephanie Upton, Avery Upton, Jake Klimkosky, Kyle Mele, and Kyra Judd.
In her final months, she found immense joy in the presence of her youngest great-grandchild, Kyra Judd.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Luisi, and her granddaughter, Dawn Upton.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Hickcox Funeral Home in Watertown, CT has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Special mention goes to her loving caretaker and friend, Nancy Picard, who was very special to her and provided compassionate support in her final years.

Anna's life and legacy will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
