Obituary: Anthony “Tony” Tremonto, 90, of Naugatuck

Tony was employed for several years as a machinist at RESCO Electronics.

NAUGATUCK – Anthony “Tony” Tremonto, 90, died peacefully at his home in Naugatuck on Sunday, April 2. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley (Kelly) Tremonto.

Tony was born on Nov. 11, 1932, in Bridgeport, Conn. He was the son of the late Daniel and Nicodema Tremonto of Naples, Italy.

Tony was employed for several years as a machinist at RESCO Electronics. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He also enjoyed dogs, making bird houses and rooting for the Boston Red Sox.

Besides his wife, Tony was predeceased by his sister, Angelina Sarnak. He is survived by his son, Mark Tremonto of Shelton; his daughter, Julie Baron and her husband, Kyle, of Waterbury; and his daughter Nancy DeRosa and her husband, Rick Maverick, of Naugatuck.
Also left to cherish Tony’s memory are his grandchildren, Chris DeRosa; Brian DeRosa and his wife, Jamie; Kimberly and Alyson DiMaria; and his great-grandchildren, Madeline and Myla

The family would like to give special thanks to Tony’s caregivers, Hazel Moore and Ron Smith.
A celebration of life open house in honor of Tony will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at the DeRosa household, 45 Country Hollow Road, Naugatuck.

Donations in Tony’s name can be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
