Toni grew up during the Great Depression where she learned the value making a little go a long way and of hard work and family. They raised two beautiful girls, Joanne Pruner and Barbara Zappone in their house on Henry Street in Wolcott. When her daughters grew into teenagers, she returned to school and realized her dream of becoming an LPN making a difference in so many lives over her years as a nurse. Even after her retirement, she was always a nurse to her family.
After Toni and Joe retired, they spent their golden years together splitting their time between their dream retirement location in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and with their family in in CT. True to her spirit throughout life of finding joy and comfort wherever possible, in her final hours, she enjoyed a glass of scotch, some of her favorite pastry and spent time with each and every member of her family.
She leaves us now to join her Joe as well as her parents and siblings and her beloved sons in law, Craig "Skip" Pruner and Raymond Zappone. Her daughters, five grandchildren and their spouses and her nine great grandchildren remain, keeping her stories alive and sharing in the wonderful memories.
She was the matriarch of her family and she credits them for her long and joyful life.
As Toni said, she loved them all 'Forever and a Day'
