Antonia (Focareta) Addona, 91, entered into the gates of heaven on Friday, July, 15, 2022 at Apple Rehabilitation Center in Watertown surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Leonardo Addona.
Antonia was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on March 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Vittoria (Perugini) Focareta. She moved from Italy to Waterbury in 1970 and settled in Watertown in 1978. Antonia worked as a power press operator for Teleflex Automotive for over 32 years until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of the Ponte’s Women’s Club where she enjoyed playing bocci. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Leonardo of 67 years, she leaves; two children, Maria Polletta and her husband, Steven and Antonio Addona and his wife, Diane all of Watertown; four loving grandchildren, Anthony Addona and his wife, Stacey of Watertown, Steven Polletta and his partner, Greg Wall of Brooklyn, NY, Alyssa Sarlo and her husband, Nick of New Britain, and Nicholas Polletta of Miami; a great grandson, Gianluca; a brother, Carmine Focareta and his wife, Filomena of Watertown; two sisters-in-law, Giuseppina Rinaldi of Argentina and Maria Calabrese and her husband, Italo of Watertown; a brother-in-law, Salvatore D’Addona and his wife, Margherita of Waterbury; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank the entire staff of Apple Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care and compassion given to Antonia during her stay.
Arrangements: Antonia’s funeral will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 8:45 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to St. John the Evangelist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Mausoleum in Watertown. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The members of the Ponte’s Women Club can meet at the funeral home Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as a group.
