Bernard “Bernie” C. Ardry Jr. age 75, longtime resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away December 6th, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Keleman) Ardry for 49 years. He was born in Waterbury on September 6th, 1947, the son of the late Bernard C. Ardry Sr. and Doris (Gladding) Ardry.
Bernie was an avid baseball and softball player in his younger years and as he got into his senior years he became a golfer, which he loved. He played every weekend with his buddies at Whitney Farms. Bernie was also honored with an induction into the Naugatuck Hall of Fame for his baseball and softball skills. Bernie worked for Lindquist Supply Co. and Turtle and Hughes’ shipping and receiving department for many years until his retirement.
Bernie is the loving brother of Joyce Luzio (Manny), Carol Squiers (Brian), and Diane Dutton. Bernie is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Buddy. Bernie was predeceased by his sister Kathryn Kauffman.
Friends are welcome to greet Bernie’s family on Tuesday, December 13th at Riverview Funeral Home from 9 - 10:15 am on 390 River Road in Shelton. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am. Bernie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace at 11am on 497 Second Hill Lane in Stratford. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to Best Friends at bestfriends.org to the Salt Lake City, UT location.
