BEVERLY (OSOWICKI) BUCARI
“Loving mother and grandmother”
WATERBURY, CT - Beverly (Osowicki) Bucari of Waterbury, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Beverly’s greatest joy was her family. She was a truly selfless person who dedicated her life to helping others. Beverly touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Beverly was born in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Chette and Margaret Catherine (Carroll) Osowicki. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and Post College. Beverly was a well-known interior designer, starting her career working at the Gallery on Leavenworth and ultimately opening and operating her own business, Finishing Touches of Middlebury. In addition to her active career, Beverly was a tireless volunteer spending countless hours assisting several organizations throughout the Waterbury area.
Beverly was recently appointed by the Mayor to the Board of Agents for the Silas Bronson Library and was also currently an active member of both the Waterbury Public Art Committee and the Catholic Academy School Board. Beverly had been heavily involved in assisting local schools, serving as a past President of the Bunker Hill School PTA, past President and Founder of the West Side Middle School PTA, and past President of the Holy Cross High School Mothers Club. As a result of her efforts, Beverly was appointed to and served as a Board Member of the Waterbury PTA-PTO City Wide Council.

While there were several organizations that were near and dear to Beverly, there was none more important to her than St. Mary’s Hospital. Beverly served as the past President of the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary Board and was a member of the Gala Committee for St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation for many years. Beverly also served on the Board of Directors of the Waterbury Day Nursery, St. Mary’s School and the Boys & Girls Club of Waterbury. Beverly was the Chair for both of the Margaret “Peggy” Goldberg Celebrity Cupcake Fundraisers, which raised funds for Holy Cross High School, The Boys & Girls Club of Waterbury and St. Mary’s School as well as co-chairing the Design Challenge Fundraiser for the Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury.
In recognition of her efforts, and others that are too numerous to list, Beverly was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Waterbury in 2012 and the “Book of Golden Deeds” by the Waterbury Exchange Club in 2018.
She leaves her sons Attorney Louis Bucari, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of West Hartford, Dr. Todd Bucari and his wife Laura of Westwood, Massachusetts, and her four granddaughters, Caitlyn, Caroline, Emily and Bridget, who she absolutely cherished. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Goldberg.

Arrangements: Due to the current pandemic, funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. A celebration of Beverly's life will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
