Obituary: Blanca Hermida Garcia, 97, of Wolcott

WOLCOTT - Blanca Hermida Garcia, 97 of Wolcott, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday, June 26, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the loving wife of Roberto Garcia.

Blanca (Cabiya) Garcia was born September 13, 1925, in Ciales, Puerto Rico, daughter of Hilario Cabiya and Josefa Martinez. Blanca was a beautiful woman who was committed to raising her family. She lived every day with a kind heart. Her home was always open, and her selflessness will never be forgotten. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us.

To honor her legacy and cherish her memory, Blanca leaves behind her husband, Roberto Garcia, two daughters, Susan Caisse and Donna Boland; her two sons, Robert Garcia Jr. of South Carolina, and Alberto Garcia of Florida and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved very much. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Martinez.

Relatives and friends may visit with Blanca’s family on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Blanca’s life.
