Naugatuck – Brian L. Blanchard, 44, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Connecticut Hospice after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Amy (Alonza) Blanchard.

Always with a smile, Brian would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He was caring, compassionate, and fun-loving. Never taking life too seriously, Brian lived with an optimistic attitude and zest for life. His charm was contagious and his humor unparalleled and everyone who knew him was drawn in by his happiness.

Brian was born June 7, 1978, in Austin, TX, the son of Kenneth Blanchard (Marcia) and Dianna (Bruzzi) Blanchard (Terry). He was an HVAC Technician for several years before finishing his career as a maintenance technician for Eversource. He was a hard worker who was always willing to lend a hand – both on and off the job.

Besides his wife of 15 years and his parents, Brian is survived by his brother Nicholas Blanchard and his wife Jennifer, and their children Jacob and Emma; his grandmother Nancy Blanchard; his father-in-law and his mother-in-law Brian and Annamarie Alonza Sr.; his brother-in-law Brian J. Alonza Jr. (Christine Nunes); his nephew and niece Niko and Juliana Alonza as well as many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and treasured friends. He set an amazing example as a husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend and his light will shine brightly in all who knew him.

Arrangements – Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 4 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Brian’s funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am and process to St. Francis of Assisi Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s honor to Closer to Free at Smilow Cancer Hospital: givetoynhh.org or checks can be sent to YNHH, Development Office, PO Box 1849, 06508.
