CARMELA “MOLLIE” TANSLEY
“Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother”

WATERBURY - Carmela “Mollie” (Mecca) Tansley, 101, peacefully passed at her home on Wednesday March 13, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Clarence Tansley for 68 years.

Mollie was born on April 12, 1922 to Leonardo and Gertrude (Stolfi) Mecca. Mollie ran the family grocery store, Tansley’s Market, for many years, later, after the store closed, Mollie spent several years as a cashier for Everybody’s Market.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Thomas, Robert (Diane), Stephen Sr. (Arline) and Peter (Susie); Grandchildren Jeffrey, Stephen Jr., Brooke, Erin, Matthew, Scott and Maura as well as eleven great grandchildren and several cherished nieces and nephews. Mollie was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Maureen Tansley, a sister, Catherine Santoro and her brother, Domenic Mecca.

Mollie’s family wishes to thank her loving, caring and devoted caregivers, Patty Ferriaolo and Cindy Jones.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Saturday March 16, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 P.M. Burial will be private at a later day and time in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 11:30 A.M. until the precession departs for the Basilica.
