Waterbury, CT - Carmen “Jimmy” Bernardi, 91, of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Concetta (Centinaro) Bernardi.



Jimmy was born in Waterbury, CT on July 17, 1929, son of the late Michele and Filomena (Celuza) Bernardi. He was a graduate of Croft High School and started working at the Elton Hotel. After the Elton Hotel, Jimmy worked as a self employed escavator and construction worker for many years. Before his retirement, he worked security for Burn’s International Security for over 20 years.

Jimmy leaves his children, Phyllis Boutote and her husband, Gil of Oakville, Joann Dufour and her husband, Phil of Waterbury, Sandra Bernardi of Oakville, Carmen C. Bernardi of Waterbury and James Bernardi of Waterbury. He also leaves nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Alfonso and Joseph Bernardi and sisters, Angelina Grosso and Mary Sforza.


Arrangements: His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. A calling hour will be held on Monday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
