Celeste was born in Waterbury on October 6, 1956, eldest daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia (Lombard) Lombardi. She attended Wilby High School; from there, she attended cosmetology & hairdressing school. She held a number of careers over the years — including a hairdresser/beautician, a waitress in the hospitality industry, a customer service manager at Wal-Mart, and, most recently, a PCA to the elderly and disabled.

Incredibly caring and loving, Celeste was a nurturer by nature with an enormous heart and undeniable spirit. She was a great Italian cook who loved cooking for her family and friends. An adorer of animals and music, she had a fondness for old soul and blues; her favorite musicians were Bonnie Raitt, Rod Stewart, and Prince. She loved to dance and loved to be near the water; she could always be found by a beach or a pool when the warm weather rolled around. Celeste also had a knack for poetry and writing.

Celeste was very close with her sister Katherine Lombardi, whose death preceded her last month, as well as her children — Richard, Lisa, and Colleen. Celeste is survived by two sons; Leon Lombardi and his spouse Niko of Torrington, and Anthony Lombardi and his wife Tyisha of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers — Thomas Lombardi and his wife Barbara of Sebastian, FL, Anthony Lombardi of Torrington, and Robert Lombardi and his wife Michele of Southington. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Lilly, who is now in the care of her eldest son, Leon.

Arrangements: A celebration of Life gathering with her cremains present will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury. Calling Hours will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at a later date and time.
