Christopher “Chris” Crowther succumbed on March 21, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born on February 22, 1964, Chris was the son of Susan (Pagni) Crowther and the late Richard Crowther and was raised in Wallingford. He was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School, Class of 1982, and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1986. He then founded The Fitness Stop, a personal training service. For the next 33 years, he helped so many reach their health, fitness and life goals, which he continued to do until the last day of his life. For the last three years, he also ran a dog training business, Dog-Gone Behavior, incorporating his love and knowledge of dogs with his keen desire to assist people.

For six years, Chris, along with his wife, was a dedicated foster parent, sharing his life, love and home with many amazing children. In typical Chris Crowther fashion, he gave the endeavor his all, and together the couple earned an Outstanding Foster Family Award, a testament to Chris’ commitment and efforts on behalf of the children.
Other than time with his wife and son, Chris was never happier than when he could help someone, whether it was through his jobs, a handyman project, an exercise or stretch to cure an ache or pain, or even a stranger in Home Depot who had a question that he could answer. Chris’s final act of selflessness was to donate several organs through New England Donor Services to continue to help others in need.

Barbara Jo and Quinn would very much like to thank all the staff in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, South Pavilion 6-1, for the warm compassion shown to them and for their extraordinary care of Chris during his time there. They would also like to thank the staff they interacted with from New England Donor Services of Waltham, Massachusetts for the respect, kindness and gratitude shown to them in assisting to carry out Chris’ final wishes.
