Obituary: David F. Golebiowski, 67, of Naugatuck

David started working in the 70's as a graphic artist working for shops in Yonkers, New Rochelle, New York City, Danbury, and North Haven.

David F. Golebiowski, 67, of Naugatuck, CT, born in Bolton, England and raised in Yonkers, NY, passed peacefully on July 22nd after a battle with cancer. David was the second son of the late Albert and Margaret Golebiowski. He is survived by his wife Janet of Naugatuck and their son Adam (Caitlin) of Greensboro, NC as well as his brothers Stefan (Patsy) of Berri, VT, Albert of Crestwood, NY, John (Teresa) of Yonkers, NY, and sister Margaret (Timothy) Sampson of Putnam Valley, NY along with an extended family of many nieces and nephews.

David started working in the 70's as a graphic artist working for shops in Yonkers, New Rochelle, New York City, Danbury, and North Haven until taking up a new trade as an IT technician in the 2010s before spending his last years in retirement.

David was a gentle and loving soul with a song in his heart who never needed an excuse to get lost in the woods and enjoy all the beauty nature has to offer which he often channeled into photography and art, favored hobbies of his. He was also an avid lover of music and fan of the Rolling Stones and Moby.

David was a good friend to many and will truly be missed. Always and Forever.


Per his wishes, David will forgo a traditional mass and burial, choosing cremation and a Celebration of Life to be held Sunday July 31st. Calling hours will be 11am-1pm with a brief memorial service afterward at Naugatuck Valley Memorial - Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home - 240 North Main Street Naugatuck CT 06770.
