David A Garrett Sr., 62, passed unexpectedly on January 24, 2023.
David was born in Naugatuck on November 1, 1960, to Dorsey Garrett Jr & Catherine (Duffy) Garrett and is survived by his three siblings, Kathleen Crabtree, Dorsey Garrett, and Karen Hummel, his children; David A Garrett Jr., David’s significant other, Kathleen Ireland, and Kelly R Garrett. David is also survived by his three grandchildren; Brayden, Riley, and David A Garrett III and will be missed by many more in his extended group of friends and family.

David attended DeVry Technical Institute where he studied Computer Engineering and received a bachelor’s degree. Dave has dedicated his whole career to I.T. and most recently for DPR Ultrasonic Technologies LLC of Danbury.
Anyone who knew Dave knows how passionate he was about sports, starting with his love for Naugy Greyhounds Football, originating during his high school days at NHS. If you ran into Dave around town, the conversation would likely turn into an opportunity to reminisce on the various games through the years. Dave’s passion for sports didn’t end there; he could tell you all about the NY Giants, The Mets, NASCAR, and professional fishing.

When Dave wasn't indulging in the latest in sports news, he was spending time with his grandchildren who fondly referred to him as "Happy," which was because Brayden couldn't pronounce "Pappy." They became his most cherished pastime over the last five years.
Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Funeral services and burial in St. James Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Naugatuck High School QB Club, 543 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, CT 06770. Please indicate in the memo portion "In Memory of David Garrett Sr."
