Obituary: Deborah A. Murray, 76, Of Naugatuck

Deborah A. Murray, 76, wife of Raymond P. Murray, died peacefully on August 30, 2023 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury with loving family by her side.

Debby was born October 12, 1946 in Waterbury, CT a daughter of the late Wendell and Lucille (Stewart) Montgomery. Debby grew up in Middlebury and lived most of her life in Naugatuck, where she graduated from Naugatuck High School.

Debby enjoyed a good beach day, vacationing in the Caribbean and Martha’s Vineyard, and spending time with her family.

In addition to Ray, her loving husband of 55 years, Debby is survived by her son, Matthew Murray and his wife, Kelly Murray and their children, Owen, Cooper and Lily Ray Murray; her daughter, Leah Kennedy and her husband, Michael Kennedy and their children, Rowan, Aidan and Cavan Kennedy; her brother, Wendell Montgomery; her sister, Maureen Densmore and her husband, Lawrence Densmore and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Debby was predeceased by sisters, Lynn Ring and Hollace Purcaro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is kindly asked to please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. A calling hour will be Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
