Obituary: Dena M. (Verrastro) Klobedanz, 91, of Thomaston
She worked as a microscopic inspector for Allied Signal for over 20 years until her retirement.

LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, AND GRANDMOTHER
Mrs. Dena M. (Verrastro) Klobedanz, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded her by family, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Cook Willow Nursing Home. She was the devoted wife of the late Alton J. Klobedanz, Jr.

Born on October 28, 1931, in Waterbury, Dena was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Lucian) Verrastro. She was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, Class of 1949. She worked as a microscopic inspector for Allied Signal for over 20 years until her retirement. Dena was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church for over 40 years, where she was a member of the ladies guild and an active volunteer for all events including their Christmas bazaar.
Dena was an avid reader with murder mysteries and crime dramas among her favorite genres. She traveled extensively both within the U.S. and internationally. Completely devoted to her family, Dena was an amazing mother and grandmother. Extremely close to her siblings, Dena loved to cook, host parties and Sunday dinners. Her best times were with her family, and she loved family picnics. One of her favorite activities was walking, especially with her beloved granddog, Sam.
Dena is survived by her son Joseph T. Klobedanz of New Jersey; her daughters Donna Bintliff of Waterbury and Patricia Klobedanz and her fiancé Christopher Armstrong of Terryville; her cherished grandchildren Eric Klobedanz and his wife Gayle of Milford, Kaleena Thrasher and her significant other Geraldo Francis of Waterbury, Zachary Keith and his wife Ashley of Terryville, and Ryan Keith and his fiancé Aimee Maloney of Newington. She also leaves her great-grandchildren Phoenix Dildy, Lilianna Baez, Hunter Klobedanz, Rainaldo Francis, Erika Klobedanz, and Ja’Nai Francis as well as her sister Catherine Boucher of Bethlehem; her best friend Ruth Partiss of Maryland and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dena was predeceased by her son-in-law Michael Bintliff, her brothers William, Salvatore, and Nicholas Verrastro and her sisters Elvera Nardozzi, Elizabeth Cicchetti, and Ann Rudaitis.

Dena’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 9:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to St. Michael’s Church for a Mass at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm.
