NAUGATUCK, CT - Denise Marie (Rivard) Capozzi, 81, of Watertown, CT, formerly of Naugatuck, CT, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.
Denise was born May 20, 1939, in Norwich, CT, the daughter of the late Lucian and Blanche (Marchand) Rivard. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony Church in Prospect. Prior to her retirement in 2006, for 33 years she worked as the Manager of Food Services for the City Hill Middle School in Naugatuck.

She enjoyed raising her family, working, friends, the beach, and especially cooking. She cooked for family and friends on all occasions, preparing everything from traditional holiday meals to baking batches of the “perfect” Christmas cookies. When it came to Denise’s cookies everyone had a favorite. Denise also loved being a mother, grandmother and recently a great-grandmother. She was happy to attend every birthday, graduation, sporting event, and wedding. She was always ready and willing to participate in the families many crazy activities, whether it be competing for the best piece of sea glass or judging a sand castle contest on the shores of Quonochontaug, Rhode Island. Warm, generous, kind and thoughtful is how many people would remember Denise. She will forever be in our hearts.
