Obituary: Diane (Lavado) Celozzi, 73, of Naugatuck
Diane lived most of her life in Naugatuck and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Diane (Lavado) Celozzi, 73, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital with the loving support of her family. She was the loving wife of Donald L. Celozzi.

Diane was born in Waterbury on January 11, 1949, daughter of the late John and Maria (Lopes) Lavado. Diane lived most of her life in Naugatuck and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Besides her loving husband Donald, Diane leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Jason Celozzi and his wife Aimee of Naugatuck, and her three grandchildren, Ella, Nya, and Chase Celozzi. She also leaves behind her four sisters, Brenda Russman and her husband Jack of Thomaston, Geraldine “Gerry” Reardon and her husband William of Waterville, Kathleen “Kathy” Beluscak of Naugatuck, Christine “Tina” Ennis and her husband John of Naugatuck, her prima, who was always considered the sixth sister, Rosemarie Simoes of Naugatuck, her brother-in-law, Mike Beluscak of Cheshire, as well as many nephews, nieces, primos and primas.

Diane graduated from Paier School of Art as 4-year illustrator. She worked for Heminway Corporation as artist/illustrator and as a free-lance artist for Mason and Madison, Albee Triver and Smith Partners, and Linda Olender. She was an award-winning artist and belonged to the Watertown Art League, the Cheshire Art League and a former member of the Pastel Society of CT.
Diane’s family wishes to thank all her caregivers from Waterbury Hospital, as well as her caregivers from Yale New Haven Hospital who continued to care for her kindly and compassionately during her stay there.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck. Everyone is kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. In respect to Diane’s family, everyone is kindly asked to keep COVID-19 restrictions and requirements in mind when attending her services.
