Obituary: Dolly F. (Shaker) Lengyel, 71, of Naugatuck
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, she owned and operated Personal Pampering in Naugatuck for over 35 years.

Dolly F. (Shaker) Lengyel, 71, of Naugatuck, died Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of John S. Lengyel, her husband of 52 years.
Dolly was born September 13th, 1951 in Beirut, Lebanon, daughter of the late James and Jacquline (Ayoub) Shaker. She graduated from Kaynor Tech High School in 1969 with a degree in Cosmetology. She owned and operated Personal Pampering in Naugatuck for over 35 years.
Dolly was very active with the Naugatuck V.F.W. Post 1946 and the Women's Auxiliary, working on veterans causes and sending care packages to servicemen overseas for over 20 years. She also spent countless hours helping women who were victims of domestic violence, as well as the local shelters. She was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan and enjoyed attending games with her best friends Bonnie, Barbara, Joanne, and Judy. She loved to cook and everyone enjoyed her homemade cookies, especially her Baklava and Biscotti.
In addition to her husband John, Dolly leaves her son John “Jay” Lengyel, daughter Stephanie Lengyel and daughter Kim Lengyel and her fiance Marc Carrion, all of Naugatuck; brother and sister in law Paul and Mary Beth Shaker of Wolcott, sister and brother in law June and Leonard Newman of Wakefield , RI., sisters Denise Shaker of Milford and Debbie Gould of PA., brother in law Robert Umbro of Dennis, MA.; grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Briana, Kayla, Mickayla and her husband Sawyer, Thomas and Stephen; great grandchildren Brooklyn, Luna, Mason; several nieces and nephews as well as her beloved puppies Lulu and Chloe. She was predeceased by her brother James Shaker, sister Joann Umbro and son in law Scott Jackson.
