WATERBURY - Mrs. Dolores M. (Sarni) Cancellaro, 93, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven to be reunited with her husband and son, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved widow of Joseph L. Cancellaro Sr.
Dolores was born in Waterbury on January 11, 1929, daughter of the late Alboino and Mary (Murno) Sarni. She graduated from Wilby High School Class of 1947. She worked in the mortgage banking industry for Savings and Loan of Waterbury and retired from Colonial Bank in Waterbury in 1998. She enjoyed going to Cape Cod where she and her husband owned a home for many years where she frequented the beaches. She was an extraordinary cook and always invited her family over for Sunday dinners as recent as last week. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved and adored. She was an active member of the Lions Club of Waterbury.

Dolores leaves to honor and cherish her memory; her children, Stephen D. Cancellaro and Marilyn Robillard of Waterbury, Elaine Costante and her husband Gary of Sandusky, OH, Diane Cancellaro with whom she lived, and Dominic Cancellaro and his wife Carolyn of Watertown; three grandchildren, Eric Costante and his wife Gabrielle of Sandusky, OH, Dante Cancellaro and Nicholas Cancellaro both of Watertown; two great grandchildren, Blaine Costante and Giada Costante of Sandusky, OH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph L. Cancellaro, Jr. and her sister and brother-in-law, Antoinette “Ann” (Sarni) and Anthony Calabrese.
Arrangements: Funeral will be Friday April 8, 2022 at 8 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main Street Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.… Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
