After retirement, she returned to teaching as an adjunct professor at Naugatuck Valley Community College.

Dorothy Murnane
“Beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend”
Dorothy F. Murnane, 86, of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Dennis F. Murnane.
Dorothy was born in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Anthony and Lena (Speciale) Fasano. Dorothy was an educator, earning her degrees from Southern Connecticut State University and Fairfield University. She worked as a teacher at Chase School in Waterbury, and then in the guidance department at Wolcott High School for many years. After retirement, she returned to teaching as an adjunct professor at Naugatuck Valley Community College. Dorothy and Dennis owned Murnane Realty and both were active in many civic and charitable organizations in and around Waterbury. Dorothy and her husband loved to travel all over the world, but their favorite place to go was Arizona and stay in their second home.
Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved nieces and nephews, Lisa Fasano of Prospect, Christine Fasano of Windham, NH, Deborah Desaulniers and her husband Ron of Watertown, Karen Fasano and her husband Matt LaCluyze of Southington, and Linda Gagnon and her husband Jeff of Watertown. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Joan Fasano of Windham, NH, and her grand nieces and nephews, Dan, Casey, Haley, Matthew, Rachel, Jordan, Owen, Bobby, and Kate. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Thomas Fasano, and sister-in-law, Theresa Fasano.
The family would like to thank the Hartford Healthcare VNA, Hospice and everyone that participated in her care. They would especially like to thank Elaine, Jen and Grace for being her caregivers and companions.
Arrangements: A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Entombment will follow at Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum. A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
