Obituary: Earle H. Sterling III, 69, Of Naugatuck

Earle H. Sterling, III, 69, husband of the late Nancy (Tuohy) Sterling, died peacefully on August 20, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Earle was born October 2, 1952 in Detroit, MI son of the late Earle H. and Jenny (Whitley) Sterling, II.

Earle lived in Naugatuck for over 30 years and retired as an auditor from the State of CT, Department of Revenue Services where he worked for 25 years. Earle enjoyed everything about military history and he was an avid soccer fan.

Earle is survived by his son Earle H. Sterling, IV and his wife, Kerri; his son, Phil Sterling; his grandchildren, Isabelle, Nicholas, Sean and Tori; his brother, Kenneth Sterling and his wife, Mary Beth; his sister, Susan Howard and her husband, Bruce and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
