Ellen Louise (Suchy) Zalewski, age 78, loving wife of Joseph F. Zalewski, passed away on Thursday April 11, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born in Bridgeport, CT on October 22, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Pettit) Suchy. She was raised in Trumbull, and moved to Naugatuck in 1974. Ellen was an active member of St. Vincent Ferrer Church, where she served as the parish secretary and was a member of the Ladies Guild and Choir. Ellen had worked at Bridgeport Hospital and Dufour Bus Company in Naugatuck. She had volunteered at the Naugatuck Ecumenical Food Bank for many years.

In addition to her husband Joe of 59 years, Ellen leaves her family to honor her memory, her son Michael Joseph Zalewski and his wife Joyce (McKee) of Bothell, WA, her daughter Theresa Louise Granger and her husband Lee of Summerville, SC; her brother Paul Suchy of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Melissa Ann Roberts and her husband Jordan, Lindsey Mae Zalewski, Faith Ann Tuscano, and Elizabeth Ann Tuscano; one great grandson Lennox Roberts; two nieces and one nephew.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 22, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road in Naugatuck. Burial will be private.
