Obituary: Gloria (Mann) Potter, 71, of Thomaston

Gloria was a honorary member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, a member of the Waterbury Veterans Memorial Committee.

THOMASTON, CT - Gloria (Mann) Potter, 71, of Thomaston, wife of Daniel A. Potter, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2021 at St Mary Hospital Waterbury.

Gloria was born in Waterbury June 15, 1949, daughter of the late Harold and Marjorie (Pratt) Mann. Prior to her retirement she was a nurse’s aide at Ingraham Manor Bristol. After her retirement, Gloria started her own business called Gloria’s Sweet Dreams. She made hand sewn bath robes, blankets and pj’s which she sold at bazaars and fairs around the area. Gloria was a honorary member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, a member of the Waterbury Veterans Memorial Committee, the Fort Hill Cemetery Association, Thomaston Ladies Association, former president of the Waterville Community Club and a recipient of many community service awards.

Besides her husband she is survived by, her sons Andrew Mann of Torrington and David Potter and his wife Donna of Oxford; her brothers, Paul, Richard, James, Robert, and Walter Mann; her sisters, Deborah, Catherine, and Sheryl; her grandchildren Austin and Jillian Potter; her step- granddaughter Krysta and a close friend Mickie Cirillo. She was predeceased by her brother Harold.

A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery Terryville in the spring.
