“Devoted to her faith, family and friends”

WATERBURY, CT – Helen M. Olsen, age 95, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on February 9th 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Ola Olsen.

Helen was born September 7th 1925 in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Carey) Mytych. Helen spent many years working as a data processor for the Sperry Gyroscope Company before her retirement. Helen was a devout Catholic and long time parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Waterbury. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and Bingo with her frineds andas well as the occasional trip to Foxwoods.

Left to honor and cherish Helen’s love and legacy are several close friends and extended family members, including her close family friends, Susan and Fred Von Bargen and Barbara and David Marcus.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Olsen will be held on Monday, February 15th 2021 at 2:45 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. A walk-through visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the prayer service at 2:45 p.m. All requirements concerning COVID #19 will be strictly enforced. Burial will be held privately in Long Island National Cemetery where Helen will be laid to rest along side her husband.
