Obituary: James (Jimmy) Dwy 52, of Naugatuck

Jim was a self-employed carpenter who loved motorcycles and riding, rebuilding trucks with his Dad, scuba diving, most of all his children.

James (Jimmy) Dwy 52, of Naugatuck passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2022.
Jimmy was born on June 25, 1970 in Havelock, North Carolina, the son of the late Rob and June (Alsdorf) Dwy who predeceased him earlier this year. He attended Naugatuck schools.


Jim was a self-employed carpenter who loved motorcycles and riding, rebuilding trucks with his Dad, scuba diving and most of all his children. Jimmy had a passion for creating things with his hands and for spending time in the pool with his treasured grandchildren.

Jimmy is survived by his son Christopher Dwy, daughters Jessi Dwy and Jami Britt and her husband Taray. He is also survived by his sister Jacqueline Dwy, her fiancé David Broadus of Waterbury, and Jennifer Dwy of Naugatuck and his beloved grandchildren: Devin Caulfield, Yahmad Rountree Jr., Aria and Aila Britt.


He also leaves behind his niece Sabrina Dwy, great nephew Cameron Alvarado, his nephew Jaylen Kelley, numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Jimmy also leaves his beloved dog Opie.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Service led by Chaplain Patrick Evans.

The family would like to thank the Naugatuck Police Department and especially Chaplain Patrick Evans for their kindness during an especially difficult time.
