Obituary: ​James Warden, 77, Of Naugatuck

Jay worked at Remington Arms and Devereux Foundation School until his retirement.

James Lewis Warden, 77, of Naugatuck, passed away on October 10, 2023. Jay, as he was fondly known, was born on October 4, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late James E. and Hazel Warden.

Jay was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force for 8 years. He attended Mattatuck Community College and assisted other students attending college with monetary donations.

Jay worked at Remington Arms and Devereux Foundation School until his retirement. He belonged to many organizations with veterans and the local food bank. Jay was a kind soul who would help anyone in need. He will be missed by all who loved him.

He leaves behind his cousin, Christine Marek and her family; and his closest and dearest friends, Art and Sharon Hibler of Arizona, Richard and Robin Budzinovski of Naugatuck, Catherine Ernsky and Rose G. William. Other special people in his life were John DeBisschop with the Naugatuck Fire Department and social worker Sheri Hatfield with the Naugatuck Police Department. He also leaves behind all of his friends at Stop & Shop, Big Y and the Naugatuck community.

A burial will take place privately. Arrangements are in the care of the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran’s Association at www.va.gov/connecticut-health-care/work-with-us/volunteer-or2-donate.
