“Loving mother and grandmother”
Jean A. Rigney of Waterbury died peacefully at home on February 5, 2023 with her family by her side. Jean was born in Jackson Heights, NY to George and Edna Yockel and was a graduate of Katharine Gibbs School in Manhattan. She worked at American Cyanamid in NY until she met her husband, (the late) Judson L. Rigney, while summer vacationing at Lake Zoar in Southbury, CT. They married in 1952, and settled first in the Town Plot area and then on to the Bunker Hill section where they lived until their respective deaths. She was the mother to four children; Wayne (and Debra), Robert (and Lisa), Lynn (and Felix) and Kenneth (and Laura), and was a grandmother to six; Jacqueline, Ryan, Meghan, Molly, Erin, and Ally.

Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Jean enjoyed playing tennis & bridge, horseback riding, traveling, being with friends, and attending church. Jean also had an immense love for all animals, and while she always wanted to live on a farm, she settled for at least always having 1 or 2+ pets in the house.
Arrangements: While there are no calling hours, you are welcome to join her family at A Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 12 Ardsley Road, Waterbury, CT. Burial will be private. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with Jean's arrangements.
