Jeannette was full of life and had a fiery soul until her last breath and leaves behind many great memories that leaves a smile to everyone.

Naugatuck - Jeannette Ortega, 63, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at her home, with her family by her side.


Ms. Ortega was born December 10, 1959, in New York, the daughter of the late Lydia (Salamanca) Ortega.

Jeannette is survived by her daughters Jessica Moreno, Desiree Pijuan and Jeannette DeJesus and their children Xena Crespo, Elijah Crespo, Joshua Oakley, Jacob Oakley and Peter Vargas as well as her great-grandchildren, Amarylis Lawrence, A’Lani Lawrence, Eliana’lee Crespo, and Azai Crespo. She leaves behind her only niece Jasmin Gonzalez her children and grandchildren and her only nephew Michael Mirabal and his son.


She had a great love for animals and leaves behind her beloved cat Cookie and will now reunite with her companions that she had over the years, more specifically, Popie, Linda, Lady, Mecha, Negra, Nigglet, Allie, Emei, Oreo and Shadow.

Jeannette was full of life and had a fiery soul until her last breath. She leaves behind many great memories that leaves a smile to everyone that hears her stories. May she rest peacefully in the hearts and minds of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her and meeting her.
Her family would like to thank Accent Hospice Care specifically her nurse Sara and her HHA Karen for being so kind and patient with her during her final days.


Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
