Joanne Paolino, age 82 of Waterbury passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 10, 2023 at her home. She was the beloved wife of James J. Paolino.
Joanne was born November 30, 1940 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Salvatore and Antoinette (Cicchitto) Ricupero. A 1958 graduate of Crosby High School, Joanne pursued a degree as a licensed practical nurse at Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an LPN, at Waterbury Hospital, for many years. After leaving the nursing profession, she started her own business, The Mail Room in Watertown. She was a loving wife, mother and Nene who enjoyed, supporting numerous charities, hosting family events such as the annual Fourth of July Picnic and Christmas Day. Joanne enjoyed spending time in her vacation home in Wells Beach, Maine. However, she found her greatest joy spending time with and taking care of her family.

Besides her beloved husband of almost fifty-six years, Joanne leaves her children James S. Paolino and his wife Ellen of Wolcott, Jack A. Paolino and his wife Antonietta of Thomaston, her beloved grandchildren Jake, Megan, Daniel and Matthew Paolino. She also leaves her brother Thomas S. Ricupero and his wife Barbara of Middletown, sister Marie Wallace and her husband Garry of Vernon, cousin Judith Laudati and her husband David of Seymour, four nephews, one niece, a close lifelong friend Mariette Sibley, of Vernon. Joanne’s faithful dog Pepe was always by her side. She was predeceased by her brother David Ricupero, nephew Christopher Ricupero and birth father Joseph Janitto.
Arrangements: Funeral Monday March 13, 2023 at 9 AM from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church to celebrate Mass at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum in Watertown. Calling hours Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
