John worked for MCI Telecommunications which lead him to Rye, NY and Prospect, CT where he raised his daughters.

“Loving father"

Mr. John David More, 52, of Naugatuck, entered into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday October 11, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Elizabethtown, PA on May 15, 1970, son of Jack More of Elizabethtown, PA and the late Judi (Weidner) More who passed away August 17, 2021. He attended elementary School in Elizabethtown, PA and Berkshire Prep School in Sheffield, MA and earned a bachelor degree in business from New England College in Henniker, NH. He was an extremely skilled hockey player from the age of 4. He started his hockey career with the Hershey Youth Hockey, then to the Philadelphia Little Flyers, and then Team USA. While playing with the Berkshire School, he traveled in the Disney Hockey Tournament to Scotland and other locations. After prep school he played junior B hockey in Canada for one year prior to college. He continued playing hockey into college and was awarded most valuable Left Wing while playing in Europe.

Besides his father Jack, John leaves to honor and cherish his memory; his daughters, Katy More and Lauren More both of Prospect; a brother, Christopher More of Minneapolis, MN; a maternal grandmother, Miriam Weidner and an aunt Carol Kishbaugh both of Elizabethtown, PA; a childhood and best friend, Timothy Orth and his wife Brighty of Elizabethtown, PA; and a host of friends, fellow hockey teammates from PA and other locations.

Arrangements: Calling hours with John’s cremains present will be held Friday October 21, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home and Crematory 200 Benson Road Middlebury, CT. A prayer service will be celebrated at 4:45 pm Friday to close the calling hours.
