Obituary: John E. Howard Jr. of Naugatuck

He honorably served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 195.

NAUGATUCK — John E. Howard Jr. passed away peacefully at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury on Sept. 8, 2022, with his family by his side.


He was the beloved husband of Paulette (Berthiaume) Howard.

John was born in Fort Lee, Va., on July 7, 1950, son of the late John Sr. and Ritamae (Corcoran) Howard. He graduated from Kennedy High School, class of 1969. He honorably served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 195.

John enjoyed family summer vacations in Maryland. He was also a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching games with his family and friends.

John is survived by his two sons, Ryan (Chrissy), John III, and his two granddaughters Stella and Sloan of Texas. He is also survived by his sisters Sally (Matt) McWilliams, Susan (Ronald) Boucher; his brother James (Suzanne) Howard; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
