Obituary: Joshua M. Chapman, 37, Of Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Joshua M. Chapman, 37, of Naugatuck, passed away suddenly on October 21,2023. Josh was born in Bridgeport on October 6, 1986, beloved son of Kimberly (Chapman) Pisanelle, Joseph Pisanelle, Jr., and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Lecza.

He was a lifelong Connecticut resident and graduated from Platt Technical High School. Josh went on to become a member of Carpenters Union Local 210 for 7 years and later became a service manager for United Cash Systems of Fairfield.

Josh’s greatest joy in life was playing his guitar. At a young age Josh began teaching himself how to read and play music after school. This dedication led him to play in multiple bands on the local scene and through this he was able to play opening for Hinder, Sevendust, Bret Michaels and Zach Myers of Shinedown.

Since he was able to hold a video game controller Josh loved to play video games, a joy he discovered with his grandmother. Josh also loved cars, motorcycles, and a good conspiracy theory. He was sarcastic and quick-witted, always bringing a laugh to those who were around him.

Josh is survived by in addition to his parents: his wife, Elizabeth Chapman and their 6 fur babies, maternal grandparents Mary and Donald Chapman, paternal grandparents Joseph Pisanelle, Sr. and Dennis (Irma) Lecza, siblings Joseph (Jamie) Pisanelle III, Krystal Pisanelle, Jillian Lecza, Jeffrey Lecza, Jr., and Andrew Lecza, his nieces Elizabeth and Bernadette Pisanelle, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandmothers Kathleen Hamelin and Patricia Fabry. Josh will live on in the hearts and memory of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. All other services will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Josh’s name be made to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital to honor Josh’s creative legacy and his love of children.
