“Loving wife, mother, & friend”
Mrs. Kathleen A. “Kathy” (O’Hara) (Atherton) Perille, age 70, of Wolcott, entered into the gates of Heaven unexpectedly on Friday April 21, 2023 shortly after arrival at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Ronald S. Perille Sr.

Kathy was born in Atlanta, GA on September 12, 1952, daughter of the late John and Ruth (Garavel) O’Hara. She graduated from Danbury High School Class of 1970. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Radiology from Naugatuck Valley Community College. She worked as a Radiology Technician at St. Mary’s Hospital for twenty-two years and most recently was promoted as Mammography Coordinator. She was a dedicated and skilled healthcare professional who was respected and admired by her colleagues and patients alike.
Kathy was artistically talented and had a passion for crafting. She loved birds and always said when she retired, she would take up bird watching. She and Ron enjoyed traveling. She and the entire family worked hard annually to honor and cherish Ron Jr’s legacy with the Ronald S. Perille Memorial Golf Tournament. She was a devoted mother and a loving grandmother; she found tremendous joy in spending time with her family and was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement. She had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and cared for and her kind and compassionate spirit touched the lives of so many.
Besides her husband, Ron, of thirty-nine years, Kathy leaves to cherish her memory; a son, Bryan K. Atherton and his wife, Jennifer of Sandy Hook, a daughter, Niccole A. Guarino and her husband, Frank E. Guarino, Jr. of Ansonia; 3 grandchildren whom she loved and adored, Benjamin J. Atherton, Brinley M. Atherton both of Sandy Hook, Frank E. Guarino III of Ansonia and a little granddaughter to be on the way; and a mother-in-law, Marion Perille of Wolcott. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Ronald S. Perille, Jr. who was tragically taken away from them on August 8, 2014.
Arrangements: Kathy’s funeral will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where she will be reunited with her son, Ronnie. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
