Obituary: Laurie Ann (Brunelli) DeFeo, 50, of Waterbury

Laurie worked as a dispatcher for Heritage Village in Southbury for 13 years, a job which she loved as she cared deeply for the elderly.

"Loving Wife and Mother"

Laurie Ann (Brunelli) DeFeo, age 50, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert C. DeFeo.

Born on November 27, 1970, in Waterbury, Laurie Ann was the daughter of Thomas Brunelli, Sr. of Waterbury and Katherine (Czaja) Danise of Bethel. Laurie worked as a dispatcher for Heritage Village in Southbury for over 13 years; a job which she loved as she cared deeply for the elderly with the Village residents holding a special place in her heart. Prior to the Village, Laurie Ann worked as a hairdresser and worked at Jane’s Beauty Salon for several years. Big hearted and strong willed, Laurie Ann was devoted to her family. She loved animals especially her bunny, Barry. Laurie Ann was a talented artist and loved to draw. She was happiest when with her family and loved their annual trip to Old Saybrook.

In addition to her parents and Rob, her beloved husband of 24 years, Laurie Ann is survived by her daughters Kayla M. DeFeo and Alexandra DeFeo; both of Woodbury; her brother Thomas Brunelli and his wife Kim of Norwich; and her sister Deanna Hales and her husband Chris of Waterbury. She also leaves her grandmother Josephine Brunelli of Waterbury, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends.


Her graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:30am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Maiorano Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
