Obituary: Laurie Royal Lincoln, 69, Of Naugatuck

Laurie Royal (Benedict) Lincoln, 69, died December 7, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her family, after her courageous battle with kidney disease.

Laurie was born July 22, 1954 in Danbury, CT a daughter of the late Alfred and Laura Benedict of Bethel, CT. Laurie worked for many years as a short order cook at My Place Restaurant in Newtown, CT and resided in Naugatuck for the last 35 years.

Laurie loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Alesana. Laurie enjoyed going thrifting with her daughter, playing bingo, doing crosswords and reading. She was a loving and giving person, who would always help her neighbors and watch out for their children.

Laurie is survived by her daughter, Samantha Lincoln; her granddaughter, Alesana Rawlins both of Naugatuck, CT; her sisters, Dawn Sadler of Port Orange, FL, Karen Robinson and her husband, Wes of Weeki Wachee, FL and Lynne Benedict of Escondido, CA; her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her beloved dog, Jovi. In addition to her parents, Laurie was predeceased by her brother in law, Roby Sadler.

A Celebration of Laurie’s Life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
