Obituary: Louis W. Johnson, 70, of Naugatuck

He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, Class of 1970 and worked at Macy's Logistics in Cheshire for several years.

Mr. Louis W. Johnson, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Cheryl M. Bianco.
Born in Waterbury on December 23, 1952, Louis was the son of the late Louis R. and Dorothy E. (Linskey) Johnson. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, Class of 1970 and worked at Macy’s Logistics in Cheshire for several years. Lou was a friend to all and always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

An avid outdoorsman, Lou enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was an award-winning billiard player. Lou was a longtime active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 640 where he served as the Board Secretary and volunteer. Lou was a supporter and fundraiser for the annual Children’s Christmas Party and the Naugatuck Fishing Derby. He loved going out for pizza and milkshakes and spending time with family and friends were his happiest moments.

In addition to Cheryl, his wife and partner of 10 years, Lou is survived by his daughter Wendy Johnson and her fiancé Damon Marzano of Waterbury, his brothers William Johnson and his wife Tami of Naugatuck and Philip Johnson and his wife Sharon of FL as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11:30am in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. A celebration of Lou’s life will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 beginning at 2:00pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 640, 388 High St., in Naugatuck.
