“Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother”
Louise Ruth (Sexton) Martorelli, age 83, passed into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Apple Rehab of Watertown. She was the wife of the late Silvio A. Martorelli.
Mrs. Martorelli was born on February 3, 1937 in Waterbury, daughter of the late John and Lillian (Kentana) Sexton. She lived in Naugatuck during her childhood years and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She worked in the Radiology Department at Waterbury Hospital for several years until she married in 1955. After raising four children, she returned to the workforce and took a job at Pathmark, where she worked for 17 years.
With a passion for singing, Louise was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Church choir for many years. During those years, she experienced a trip of a lifetime to Italy where she toured many of the basilicas. While there, she had the opportunity to sing in the choir for the Pope at the Vatican in Rome for a New Year’s Day Mass which was broadcasted on local television.
Louise cherished her later years camping with her husband in various states as well as spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be remembered for all the special occasion and birthday cakes she made throughout the years making each and every one of them with love. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be so greatly missed leaving a void in all our hearts.
