Obituary: Lucie E. (Bernier) Roger, 97, of Wolcott

Lucie passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022 at Beacon Brook Health Center with her son, Paul, by her side.

Wolcott – Lucie E. (Bernier) Roger, 97, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2022 at Beacon Brook Health Center with her son, Paul, by her side.

She was born in Sherbrooke, Canada in 1924, and then resided in Granby, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Albert J. Bernier and Adelina (LeClerc) Bernier. Lucy was married to the late Philippe J. Roger for 61 years.

Lucie worked at Princeton Manufacturing, Sherwood Medical, Red Bull Inn, and Harrison Inn in Southbury. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Waterbury. She also loved to knit and crochet. Lucie loved her children, her 14 grandchildren, and her seven great-grandchildren; as well as all her family and friends.

She leaves behind her children, Philippe J. roger and his wife Debra of Oakville, Lucy A. (Roger) Ernandez of Plantsville, and Paul Roger and his wife Sandra of Wolcott, with whom she made her home with. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Marie Louis (Roger) Mancini and her late husband, Vittorio Mancini of Watertown. She also leave behind several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 8 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury.
