Obituary of Margaret Nelson

Naugatuck – Mrs. Margaret M. (Norris) Nelson, age 79, formerly of Waterbury and Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 18, 2022 at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Russell Nelson.

Mrs. Nelson was born February 27,1943 in New York, New York, daughter of the late Michael and Ria (O’Donoghue) Norris. She was retired after working for 20 years as a Community Training Home Manager for the State of Connecticut, working with special needs individuals. She loved her family, her pets, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan, whose favorite sports were basketball, tennis, golf and NASCAR. She also enjoyed cooking, crafting, camping and vacations in Maine.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by her daughters: Regina Marie Dardis of Waterbury, Sheila Anne Dardis of Waterbury and Mary Agnes Cook of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and her grandchildren: Hannah Cook, Zachary Cook and Lily Dardis.

Private funeral services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
