WATERBURY- Maria dos Santos Ferreira, 85, of Waterbury, died Monday, January 1st, 2024 at the Summit in Plantsville. She was the widow of Antonio Quental Maria.
Maria was born December 9th, 1938 in Curval, Pinheiro, Bemposta, Portugal, daughter of the late Antonio de Silva Ferreira and Rosa Alves dos Santos. She came to the United States in 1974. She worked at the Naugatuck Glass Co. and as a seamstress at Waterbury Neckwear. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.
Maria is survived by three sons Antonio Quental and his wife Maria of Waterbury, Carlos Quental of London, England and Vitor Quental of Portugal; sister Alice Sa and her husband Rufino as well as her sister in law Conceicao Silva, all of Portugal; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Cesar Quental and her brother Jose Silva.
ARRANGEMENTS-Funeral and burial will be held in Portugal. Seven day Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church Sunday, January 7th, 2024 at 11:30 A.M.
