Maria retired from General Data Com. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.

Naugatuck, CT -Maria Otilia Ribeiro, age76, beloved wife of Manuel Ribeiro, passed away on Thursday February 4, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Mrs. Ribeiro was born in Vila Mea, Vila Real, Portugal on June 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Deolinda Monteiro Rosa. She came to the United States in 1960 from Portugal and settled with her family in Naugatuck. Maria retired from General Data Com. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.


In addition to her husband, Maria leaves her son Carlos Ribeiro and his wife Nicole of Newington; her daughter Maria Manuela Rodrigues and her husband Joao of Naugatuck; her four grandchildren, Alissa and Jenifer Rodrigues, and Emma and Evan Ribeiro; her brother Armando Cima of Waterbury; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday February 11, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. All are invited to attend. Walk through calling hours will be held on Thursday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
