Obituary: Marie V. (Palladino) Cidela, 87, of Waterbury

She was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church and leaves family in Naugatuck.

MARIE V. CIDELA
“Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister”
Marie V. (Palladino) Cidela age 87 of Waterbury passed away peacefully February 1, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved widow of Paul A. Cidela.


Marie was born November 30, 1935 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Scalzo) Palladino. Marie was a stay-at-home mom who was truly devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie enjoyed cooking for her large family, Sunday dinners, spending time with her family, Bingo, playing cards, long car rides to nowhere in particular or any excuse to spend more time with her family.

She will be greatly missed by those blessed to know and love her. She was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church.


She leaves her sons Kenneth P. Cidela of Fort Myers, FL, Paul A. Cidela Jr. of Thomaston, step daughter Patricia Silva of Naugatuck, and daughters Debra Caouette and her husband Richard of Hollywood, FL, Linda S. Mullally and her husband James of Wallingford, her brother David Palladino and his wife Joanne of Riverside, CA, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Nicholas Palladino Jr.

Marie’s family would like to thank her care giver Ivette Collazo for her kindness, care, compassion and friendship over the past year.


Arrangements: Funeral services for Marie will be held on Saturday February 4 at 10:30 AM at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 AM.
