Marilyn (Carpinella) Santucci, 77, of Prospect, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven. She was the beloved wife of Domenic R. Santucci.

Marilyn was born in Waterbury on May 15, 1947, daughter of the late Henry J. and Reina (Boudreau) Carpinella. She was a graduate of Croft High School Class of 1965. She earned her bachelor and master degrees from Southern Connecticut State University. She worked as a teacher for the City of Waterbury Department of Education, starting her career at Maloney Elementary School and retiring from Chase Elementary School in 2001. She was loved by many of her students and their parents.

She was an exceptional cook and an avid reader. Marilyn was a devout Catholic and faithfully watched the daily Mass on Office of Radio & Television. Marilyn did not have any children of her own but devoted her life to her students and she loved and adored her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Marilyn might have been confined to a wheelchair for over 20 years but it never stopped her from enduring, socializing and touching the lives of all who knew her.

Besides her husband Domenic of 37 years, she leaves to honor and cherish her memory; a brother, Ralph Carpinella and his wife Sheila of Woodbury; two sisters-in-law, MaryEllen Santucci of Prospect and Donna Lynn Morales and her husband David of Cromwell; two nieces, Marnie Carpinella and her husband, Michael Angelino, of Woodbury and Lisa Carpinella Liano of Watertown; two nephews, Michael Anthony Morales and his wife Cassandra “Cassie” of Rocky Hill, and Anthony David Morales of NYC; six great nieces and nephews, Isabella Liano, Henry Joseph Liano, Arianna Morales, Domenic Morales, Noelle Morales and Evelynn Morales; and a special best friend as close as a sister, Reggie Lamour of Prospect, CT.

Arrangements: Marilyn’s funeral will be held Monday at 9:45 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church 309 South Main Street Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m... Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
