Obituary: Marlene (Dietsch) Bergamo, 89, of Waterbury
She was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and a graduate of local schools, and was an avid fan of UConn Women's Basketball.

WATERBURY- Mrs. Marlene (Dietsch) Bergamo, 89, of Waterbury, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by her family, at the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald Bergamo, her high school sweetheart.
Marlene was born in Waterbury, March 31, 1933, daughter of the late Harry Dietsch and Lucille (Northrop) (Dietsch) Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and a graduate of local schools. She was an avid fan of UConn Women’s Basketball but was most fanatical about her family. They were the focus of her life. She cherished her role as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed, and memories of her treasured, by all who loved her.
Besides her husband of 68 years, Marlene leaves her four sons, Ronald Bergamo, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Cheshire, Paul Bergamo and his wife Susan of Westford, Mass., Michael Bergamo and his wife Celeste of Winsted, and Peter Bergamo and his wife Doris of Litchfield; her two daughters, Kathleen Bergamo of Niantic, and Judith Pappalardo and her husband Carl of Southington; her brother Alfred Miller and his wife Janette of Waterbury; her sister Verna Dietsch of Waterbury; her former daughter-in-law, Nanette Bergamo of Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her brother, Harry Dietsch, and her sister, Elaine Dietsch.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning 10 a.m., at the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, North St., Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning 9 - 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
