Mary D. Swift of Wolcott, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2022, surrounded by family and friends, and is now reunited with her loving husband Bob, who preceded her in death.
Mary was born June 2, 1930 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Nicola and Elizabetta (Polera) Doria. Mary graduated from Wilby High School in 1948, where she was a member of the Honor Society. She then began a long career as a stenographer, typist and office administrator for various companies in Waterbury.

Mary met and fell in love with Bob through mutual friends and they were married April 7, 1956, first living in Waterbury and later moving to Wolcott, where she lived from 1959 until her passing. She loved Wolcott but more than that, all of the close friends she had there, including Marilyn Dunn and Helen Jurzyk, who remained close friends throughout her life. Over the years Mary enjoyed cooking, sewing and entertaining and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. But most of all, Mary loved being with her family and her eyes lit up whenever her children or grandchildren entered the room.
