Maureen E. Persico

Naugatuck - Maureen E. Persico, 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the longtime companion of Jeffrey Demkar.


Maureen was born January 31, 1957, in Derby, the daughter of the late Andrew and Kathleen (Condon) Cybart. She was a dedicated and compassionate Operational Assistant at Smithfield Garden Assisted Living for 18 years and a Veterinary Technician for many years at Mattatuck Animal Hospital in Waterbury.

Besides Jeff, she is survived by her two daughters, Shawn Chapman (Chuck) and Tanya Gesseck (Kyle), her five grandchildren: Krystal Chapman (Ryan), Stefani Roberge (Kyle), Keirstyn Smith, Cody Chapman, Kourtney Chapman, two great-granddaughters Lilee Nathan and Charlee Smith her longtime son in law Gregory Smith (Caitlin) and we cannot forget the best dog ever Bogie.


Maureen was predeceased by her siblings Ronald, Sandra, Andrew, and Patricia. She leaves behind three additional sisters and one brother. Several nieces and nephews. So many great coworkers and friends, especially her very good friend Laura Petkus.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 4 to 6 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Naugatuck Animal Control. Please make checks payable to Borough of Naugatuck and indicating “Animal Control” in the memo and mail to the Naugatuck Police Department, Attn. Animal Control, 211 Spring St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
