Obituary: Maureen (Evans) McGrath, 90, of Oakville

Mrs. McGrath was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Eva M. Evans. She graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar & High School.

OAKVILLE – Maureen (Evans) McGrath, 90, of Oakville, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. She was the widow of Vincent T. McGrath.


Mrs. McGrath was born in Waterbury, August 1, 1930 daughter of the late Thomas J. and Eva M. (Norman) Evans. She graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar and High School.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Karen McGrath of Oakville, Kimberly McGrath of Watertown and Kristine Cammarata of Oakville, 1 brother, Brian Evans of Prospect, 1 sister, Karen Ross of Revere, MA, 8 grandchildren, James, Josh, Jason, Jessica, Victoria, Kelly, Kristen and Nate and 5 great grandchildren.


She was predeceased by 2 sons, Thomas J. McGrath and Vincent T. McGrath, Jr., 1 grandson, Vincent Cammarata, 1 brother, Thomas Evans and 1 sister, Patricia Caruso.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday February 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, corner of Bunker Hill Ave. and Ardsley Road, Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St., Waterbury is assisting with the arrangements.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
