Maureen was born in Waterbury on October 21, 1958, daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Horgan) Mullaly, and grew up surrounded by friends in the city’s East Mountain section. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, where she found, in her husband Lou, the love that would last the rest of her life. For more than twenty years as a Public Health Aide in the Waterbury school system, her caring instincts allowed her to forge special connections with children. Her relentless optimism, contagious laugh, and genuine concern for others drew people to her. Often the first to volunteer her help and support, her effortless generosity of spirit was a comfort and blessing to all who were lucky enough to know her. She also loved summers in Rhode Island, cooking for her family, and listening to Bruce Springsteen.

She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Joseph and wife Janice Mullaly, Joan and husband Joseph Thomas, Elizabeth Geary, Mary Ellen Lauria, and Nancy and husband Joe Silva. She was cherished by her in-laws, Sandra and Lou Riccuiti, Steven Pelosi, Evelyn Pryor, Elise and Steve Martin, Lenore Pelosi, and Michael and Debra Pelosi. Maureen also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her spirit also lives in the fond rememeberances of her many close friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Patty DeVito, brothers in law William Pryor, Tom Lauria, and Jimmy Devito, and nephew Shaun Geary.

Arrangements: A celebration of Maureen’s life and a mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception will be announced at a later date. Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with handling Maureen’s funeral arrangements.

In honor of Maureen’s love for children and giving back, donations can be made in her name to:
