Meghan loved to work with children and was a teacher at Generali School of Literature & the Arts in Watertown.

Meghan Victoria Dowling, 25, of Southbury passed away on November 1, 2022 at Yale Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven, Connecticut, surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 23, 1997, in Moscow, Russia. She was the daughter of John and Lisa Petrillo Dowling, sister of Christian Dowling and the granddaughter of John Dowling and the late Jane Dowling, Albert and Victoria Petrillo.

Meghan lived her entire life in Southbury, graduating from Pomperaug High School in 2016 and loved playing in the band and participating in the drum line. She received her Communications Degree from Western CT State University in 2020. Meghan loved to work with children and was a teacher at Generali School of Literature & the Arts in Watertown.

During her college years she worked at several summer camps throughout Connecticut & Rhode Island as a camp counselor, surrounded by many children all of whom she loved. Meghan cherished a large group of her cousins that she considered to be more like her siblings, they were so close. Meghan was also blessed with many close friends that she treasured.

She loved to drive in her car and explore, ski, write, shop, listen to music, walk on the beach had a passion for photography She loved animals, especially her pet bunnies Squeakers and Sammie. Meghan is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Dowling, Holmes, Reilly, Rouleau and Quiello families whom she loved greatly.

Visiting hours will be Monday, November 7 from 8:30-10:30am in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Pl. New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church 29 Wooster Pl., at 11am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum, North Haven. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Meghan’s memory to the Lymphoma Research Foundation at lymphoma.org.
